Residents of Kariobangi North woke up to the body of a man believed to have been fatally stabbed, in an incident that has renewed concerns over insecurity in the area.
The body was discovered on Saturday morning at the Kariobangi North Playing Field. Police officers from Kariobangi North Police Station responded to the scene, documented evidence and moved the body to the Nairobi City Mortuary pending identification and a post-mortem examination.
Police said investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the suspected killing and to identify those responsible.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, who say cases of insecurity in Kariobangi have been on the rise in recent months. They expressed fear over what they described as increasing threats to public safety and urged security agencies to step up efforts to curb crime.
Residents called for more frequent police patrols, strengthened community policing initiatives and closer collaboration between law enforcement officers and local communities to improve security and restore public confidence.
No arrests had been reported by the time of publication as investigations continued.
