US Embassy Applauds Kenya After Sh1.7 Billion Methamphetamine Destruction
The US Embassy in Nairobi has congratulated Kenya following the destruction of a consignment of methamphetamine in Mombasa, describing the operation as a step towards disrupting illicit drug trafficking in East Africa.
In a statement posted on its social media platforms, the embassy said the destruction was part of broader efforts to keep illegal narcotics out of the regional market and combat global drug trafficking.
The embassy also highlighted its long-standing partnership with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Anti-Narcotics Unit, citing joint training and information-sharing as key areas of cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking.
The remarks came after Kenyan authorities destroyed the seized methamphetamine in Mombasa as part of ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs.
