The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has suspended the Migwani Ward by-election in Mwingi West Constituency, Kitui County, following interim orders issued by the High Court on October 22, 2026.
The orders, issued in Constitutional Petition No. E011 of 2026, Francis Musili Kauta vs IEBC and three others, will remain in force for 30 days pending the hearing of the petition.
The case is scheduled for hearing on November 11, 2026.
IEBC has urged the public and all stakeholders to take note of the development, adding that further updates will be communicated through its official channels.
