Three Arrested as Police Seize 10,000 Litres of Suspected Uncustomed Ethanol in Lari
Police in Lari Sub-County have arrested three suspects after intercepting a lorry transporting approximately 10,000 litres of suspected uncustomed ethanol.
The officers intercepted the lorry on Friday, October 2, 2026, during a routine patrol along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.
The three suspects were taken into custody and detained at Lari Police Station, where they are awaiting arraignment.
The intercepted lorry and the suspected uncustomed ethanol have also been detained at the police station and will be held as exhibits as investigations continue.
The National Police Service said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat the illegal trade in alcoholic products, drugs, contraband and other uncustomed goods across the country.
Police have continued to intensify patrols and enforcement operations along major transport corridors to curb the movement of illicit and uncustomed commodities.
