Huruma Crackdown Nets 17 Stolen Phones, Two Suspects Arrested
Police in Nairobi have arrested two suspects and recovered 17 assorted mobile phones in a crackdown targeting suspected receivers of stolen property in Kiamaiko, Starehe Sub-County.
Officers from Huruma Police Station carried out the targeted operation on Monday, October 5, 2026, as part of efforts to dismantle networks dealing in stolen electronics.
The recovered phones included six Samsung A15s, seven Tecno phones, one Redmi 15C, one Realme Note, one Oppo 3x and one Infinix phone.
The two suspects were arrested during the operation and escorted to Huruma Police Station, where they were placed in custody pending completion of investigations and processing before being arraigned in court.
The National Police Service commended the officers for the swift operation, saying the crackdown on phone snatching and the illegal trade in stolen electronics will continue.
Police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities in efforts to combat theft and other forms of crime.
