Police in Isiolo County have recovered an illegal AK-47 rifle and arrested a suspect following a tip-off from members of the public.
The firearm was recovered by officers from Oldonyiro Police Station in Lenguruma Village, Lenguruma Sub-Location, following a timely alert on the suspect’s possession of the weapon.
The rifle has been secured as investigations continue, while the suspect remains in police custody pending processing and arraignment in court to face relevant charges.
The National Police Service has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, saying credible information from citizens plays a critical role in recovering illegal firearms, disrupting criminal activities and enhancing community safety.
