Osanga Declares Loyalty to Matungu, Accuses Nabulindo of Failing Constituents
Matungu Member of Parliament aspirant Bonface Osanga has declared that his political loyalty is not for sale, urging residents to unite behind his bid to lead the constituency in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a church service, Osanga said his commitment to Matungu residents remained unwavering, claiming he had rejected an offer to switch political camps in exchange for money.
He maintained that his political journey was founded on trust, loyalty and a shared vision for the constituency, insisting that no financial offer would persuade him to abandon the electorate.
“The journey we started together years ago is built on trust, loyalty and a shared dream for our people. My commitment to the people of Matungu is not for sale,” Osanga said.
He further claimed that individuals had approached him with an offer to change sides, but he turned it down, declaring that he could not be bought.
“When they approached me with a price tag, I looked them in the eye and told them, ‘Tawee, mimi si mtu ya kununuliwa kama makhalange!’” he added.
Osanga said betraying the residents who had supported his political ambitions would undermine the trust they had placed in him, arguing that leadership should be guided by integrity and service rather than personal gain.
He also called on young people, including Gen Z, to demand accountable leadership and leaders who honour their promises and prioritise the needs of the electorate.
The MP aspirant also criticised the leadership of incumbent Matungu MP Peter Nabulindo, accusing him of failing to adequately address challenges facing residents.
“Nabulindo must answer to the people of Matungu. Our people deserve leadership that puts their needs first, not political decisions that leave them questioning where their loyalty and trust have gone,” Osanga said.
However, Osanga did not specify the individuals behind the alleged offer or disclose the amount of money involved.
As political activity gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election, Matungu is expected to witness increased competition among candidates seeking the constituency’s parliamentary seat.
Osanga maintained that his ambition was driven by a desire to serve the people, urging residents to remain united as they consider their political choices.
“I will not sell my people. I will not trade your trust for personal gain. Matungu is not a bargaining chip, and the future of our people is not for sale,” he said.
