Sun King expands solar inverter range For Businesses & Schools
Sun King has expanded its PowerHub solar inverter range to 30kW, targeting growing demand for reliable electricity among Kenyan households, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and light industrial operations.
The expanded range, unveiled in Nairobi, increases the company’s inverter capacity options from 2.2kW to 30kW, allowing customers to power larger appliances and equipment while scaling up their solar systems as their energy needs grow.
The systems can be connected in parallel, enabling customers to combine two or more inverters to increase power output and run equipment such as water pumps, washing machines, microwaves and air conditioners.
Atta Arome, Product Head, Solar Inverter Systems at Sun King, said the expanded portfolio would enable the company to serve customers ranging from small households to large institutions.
“The latest additions to our PowerHub range take us into new territory. We can now serve homes, shops, businesses, schools, hospitals, and offices of virtually any size,” said Arome.
The systems allow customers to select their preferred inverter capacity, battery storage and solar panels, with the option of expanding their installations as their electricity requirements increase without replacing existing equipment.
Sun King said the new inverter options are available nationwide, targeting customers seeking alternatives to unreliable grid electricity and generators for homes and commercial operations.
The company, which has operated in Kenya since 2007, has built its solar business around flexible payment options that allow customers to access solar energy systems through instalments.
According to the company, one in five Kenyans has access to its solar solutions, supported by a nationwide network of agents and service providers.
Across Africa, Sun King installs more than 330,000 solar products every month, as it expands access to off-grid energy solutions.
Catherine Mudachi, Vice President of Marketing at Sun King, said the expanded range would give more customers access to solar technology, installation services, financing and after-sales support through a single provider.
Victor Agandi, Vice President of Pay As You Go for East and Southern Africa, said customers could access the systems through monthly payments starting at Sh23,600, alongside a small initial payment.
The financing package includes installation, a full warranty and nationwide after-sales support, the company said.
The expansion comes as households and businesses seek dependable power for daily operations, including work, refrigeration, water pumping and other electricity-intensive activities.
