27 Arrested in Nairobi Liquor Crackdown
Police have arrested 27 people in Mirema, Kasarani Sub-County, Nairobi, during a crackdown targeting liquor establishments operating in violation of the law.
The arrests were made on Tuesday as officers intensified enforcement of the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, which regulates the production, sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages in Kenya.
The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned in court to face relevant charges.
The National Police Service said it remains committed to working with relevant agencies to enforce liquor laws, maintain public order and protect communities from the risks associated with non-compliant alcohol businesses.
