Revolutionise Your Commercial Laundry with the LG Wash Tower Brings Two Machines Into One Body

LG Electronics builds the Wash Tower around solving two problems at once. It is the solution that takes care of the limited floor space available commercial laundry operations, and the growing demand for laundry equipment that runs with less oversight from staff.

The single-unit washer and dryer has become one of the more distinctive commercial laundry solutions in LG’s lineup for the region, built around space efficiency and throughput as much as wash performance.

One body, two machines

Rather than the familiar side-by-side or stacked arrangement of separate washer and dryer units, the Wash Tower fuses both functions into a single vertical column.

The washer sits below, the dryer above, and the two are built and controlled as one appliance. For businesses working with a fixed back-of-house footprint, the design reclaims a strip of floor space that would otherwise go to two separate machines standing apart, freeing that space for additional units or other equipment.

LG frames the design around what it calls its 3S approach: Space, Style and Smart technology. The vertical footprint answers the space problem directly, a consideration that matters more in a commercial laundry room where every additional unit adds to output.

The style argument is more about finish than function, a clean, minimalist front intended to hold up in a professional setting rather than look out of place among other commercial equipment. The smart component is where the machine tries to differentiate itself from a conventional pairing of appliances.

Washing that adjusts itself

The core of that smart layer is AI DD, LG’s Direct-Drive washing technology paired with an artificial intelligence layer trained on large volumes of fabric and load data.

In practice, the machine reads the weight and fabric type of each load and adjusts its wash motion accordingly, using gentler movement for delicate linens and stronger agitation for heavily soiled items such as kitchen linen or uniforms.

The aim is to reduce the guesswork that would otherwise fall on laundry staff handling mixed loads through the day, rather than requiring someone to select the right cycle manually for every batch.

Wash speed gets a boost from TurboWash360, LG’s technology for shortening cycle times while maintaining top-notch cleaning performance, a meaningful gain for an operation processing linen, towels or uniforms in continuous batches through the day rather than a single load at a time.

Drying without the heat damage

Above the washer, the dryer runs on a Dual Inverter Heat Pump system. Instead of blasting fabric with high heat, the way a conventional tumble dryer works, it operates closer to the principle behind a dehumidifier, drawing moisture out of the drum air at lower temperatures.

That approach is gentler on fabric worn down by frequent commercial-grade cycles and uses less energy than heat-based drying, a detail that carries real weight for an operation running loads continuously and watching its power bill as closely as its wash quality.

A control panel that ties it together

Because the washer and dryer are effectively one appliance, LG has built a single control panel into the centre of the unit rather than splitting controls across two separate machines, a small detail that speeds up training when staff rotate between shifts.

It also carries a smart pairing function, so that once a wash cycle finishes, the dryer above can pick up the appropriate drying cycle automatically rather than waiting for an operator to select it manually.

The unit also connects to the LG ThinQ app, which opens up two additional layers of cycle customisation. Cloud cycles are pre-set combinations LG has already tailored to specific laundry needs and pushes to the app for staff to select.

Download cycles let an operation save whichever combinations it uses most often, turning a general-purpose machine into one that behaves like it was configured for that property’s specific linen and uniform loads.

The solution for your business

A smaller footprint and a smarter cycle don’t need to come at te expense of  wash quality or drying care. The Wash Tower is an example of how LG approaches the East African market by innovating products that fit the challenges actually faced by the people on the  ground.

Space, energy and staffing constraints that shape how hotels, hospitals and laundry businesses actually operate, rather than simply exporting a global design unchanged.
