Arsenal sign Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle for £75million
Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United in a deal worth £75 million, according to football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reported on Tuesday that the two clubs had finalized an agreement following lengthy negotiations, with the player having already agreed personal terms with the North London club in July.
The transfer, once officially completed, will see the 28-year-old become the latest addition to manager Mikel Arteta’s squad as Arsenal strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season.
Guimarães has been one of Newcastle’s standout performers since joining from French side Olympique Lyonnais in 2022. The Brazil international established himself as a key figure in midfield, earning praise for his passing range, defensive work rate and leadership.
His arrival is expected to bolster Arsenal’s midfield options as the club looks to mount another challenge for the Premier League title and compete in European competition.
