Johnnie Walker’s Afro Exchange heads to Nanyuki
Music lovers and nightlife enthusiasts are set for an unforgettable weekend as Johnnie Walker brings its signature Afro Exchange experience to Nanyuki, transforming Zero Percent Lounge into a vibrant hub of music, art, and culture this Saturday.
The event, scheduled for August 1 from 4 p.m. until late, will feature a star-studded lineup led by Kenyan hitmaker Mejja, alongside performances by DJs Candi and Cupid, with MC Mido hosting the evening.
Beyond the music, guests will be treated to immersive art installations by renowned mural artist Bankslave, adding a creative dimension to the celebration that blends entertainment with visual storytelling.
Johnnie Walker says the Afro Exchange experience is designed to celebrate creativity, cultural expression and meaningful social connections while offering consumers premium entertainment experiences.
“Nanyuki has become one of Kenya’s most exciting lifestyle destinations, where people come together to experience great food, breathtaking scenery, vibrant nightlife and unforgettable moments,” said Duncan Mokaya, Johnnie Walker Shopper Manager.
“Afro Exchange is about celebrating the people shaping culture and creating spaces where music, art and meaningful connections come alive. We’re excited to bring this experience to Nanyuki and invite consumers to celebrate progress the Johnnie Walker way,” he added.
The Nanyuki edition comes days after National Scotch Day, marked annually on July 27, as the whisky brand continues to celebrate Scotch heritage through contemporary cultural experiences and live entertainment.
Known for its scenic landscapes and growing nightlife scene, Nanyuki has increasingly become a preferred destination for lifestyle events, making it an ideal stop for the Afro Exchange tour.
The event also builds on the success of the platform’s Kisumu edition held earlier this year, as Johnnie Walker expands the experience to more towns across the country while promoting local artists and creative talent.
With live performances, interactive art and premium whisky experiences on the menu, organisers say this weekend’s Afro Exchange is expected to attract revellers looking for a unique blend of entertainment and culture in one of Kenya’s fastest-growing lifestyle destinations.
