SIB’s MansaX Funds Get NSE International Securities IDs in Push for Global Investment Reach
Standard Investment Bank (SIB) has secured internationally recognised securities identification numbers for its MansaX Special Fund and MansaX Shariah Special Fund, marking a significant step towards expanding the products’ institutional reach and connecting Kenyan investors to global capital markets.
The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) issued the International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) to the two funds during a ceremony held at the NSE Trading Floor, strengthening their identification within the international financial markets infrastructure.
The MansaX Special Fund (KES) received ISIN KE9930009213, while the MansaX Shariah Special Fund (KES) was assigned KE9930009437.
The identifiers provide each fund with a unique international reference that enables financial institutions, including custodians, banks, asset managers and institutional investors, to identify, hold, reconcile and report their investments more efficiently.

The development is expected to strengthen MansaX’s institutional capabilities as SIB seeks to attract a wider pool of investors beyond individuals to include corporates, pension funds, family offices and international investment institutions.
Speaking during the ceremony, Nahashon Mungai, SIB’s Executive Director for Global Markets and portfolio manager of the Standard Investment Trust Funds, said the issuance strengthens the financial market infrastructure supporting MansaX’s growth.
“For an investment fund, identity matters. An ISIN provides a unique, internationally recognised identifier that enables custodians, banks, institutional investors, asset managers and other financial institutions to identify, hold, reconcile and report their investments more efficiently,” Mungai said.
He added that the identifiers enhance the funds’ visibility and support their integration into the global financial markets ecosystem.
SIB targets wider investor participation
The milestone comes as SIB seeks to position MansaX as an investment platform offering professionally managed strategies and broader access to financial markets.
The bank said the funds aim to expand participation in global investment opportunities while mobilising domestic savings and channelling capital into productive assets.
According to SIB, strengthening the funds’ infrastructure in line with international standards will improve their accessibility and support greater participation by institutional and cross-border investors.
“Kenya has significant pools of domestic capital and enormous investment potential.
The opportunity is to build the market infrastructure and investment vehicles that can connect these pools of capital to investments both locally and internationally, while enabling Kenya to attract greater participation from global investors,” Mungai said.
He noted that aligning investment infrastructure with international standards could strengthen cross-border connectivity and position Kenya more firmly within the global investment landscape.
Capital markets infrastructure
The issuance also highlights the role of market infrastructure in supporting the growth of Kenya’s investment industry and making local investment products more accessible to financial institutions operating across different markets.
SIB acknowledged the contribution of the NSE, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), trustees, custodians, administrators, advisers and other market professionals in supporting the development of MansaX.
The bank also cited investor confidence as central to its commitment to transparency, sound governance, disciplined investment management and long-term value creation.
As MansaX continues to expand, the new identifiers are expected to support its institutional development and efforts to broaden access to diversified investment opportunities within a regulated framework.
