Police have arrested a 23-year-old man accused of killing his 18-year-old girlfriend following an alleged dispute over infidelity.
The suspect, identified as Walter Kipkoech, is accused of storming the home of Joy Wangui while armed with crude weapons, including a knife and an axe.
Wangui, a Form Four student who was preparing to sit for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, was allegedly attacked during the incident.
Kipkoech reportedly fled after the attack but was later arrested and is expected to face murder charges.
In an unusual twist, police reportedly found him wearing a T-shirt bearing the name of his deceased girlfriend at the time of his arrest.
The circumstances surrounding the killing remain under investigation as detectives work to establish what led to the fatal confrontation.
