Four Arrested Over Gang Rape and Violent Robbery in Dagoretti
Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a robbery with violence and gang rape incident involving a young woman and her boyfriend in Dagoretti, Nairobi County.
The arrests followed intelligence-led operations conducted by detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), Dagoretti, alongside the Operations Action Team (OAT) at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.
The incident occurred on the night of November 1, 2026, when the couple was attacked by a gang of approximately five men as they walked to purchase foodstuffs.According to investigators, one of the attackers was armed with a knife.
The gang overpowered the couple before forcibly taking them to Kiuru Forest, where they were subjected to a violent ordeal.
The woman’s boyfriend sustained serious injuries and was robbed of his mobile phone before managing to escape from the attackers.
His female companion was, however, held captive and gang-raped before being released in the early hours of the following morning.
She later sought medical attention at Muthua Dispensary.
Following the incident, detectives launched investigations and pursued several intelligence leads that led to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
Three suspects were apprehended during an operation in Kangemi, while the fourth was tracked down and arrested in Banana, Kiambu County.
The suspects were identified as Bradley Chahasi, alias Bura; Kelvin Madaraka Afundi, alias Mada Soka; Joash Etabale Omollo, alias Vinny; and Hannington Anangwe Musiria, alias Toh.
During the operation, detectives recovered a SIM card and a mobile phone allegedly used to receive money from the victim.
The items are expected to assist investigators in establishing the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The four suspects were subsequently presented before the Makadara Law Courts, where detectives obtained 14 days of custodial orders to allow further investigations.
They remain in custody as investigators work to establish the full extent of the gang’s alleged criminal activities, identify possible accomplices and gather additional evidence ahead of further court proceedings.
