Braeburn Group has partnered with Arsenal Football Development to launch a football development programme in Kenya, in a move aimed at creating new opportunities for young players and supporting the growth of football talent in the country.
The partnership will see Arsenal Football Development bring its coaching and player development expertise to Kenya, with the programme expected to provide young footballers with access to structured training and development opportunities.
Braeburn said the partnership is part of its broader ambition to develop and support young football talent in Kenya and across East Africa.
The agreement was formally signed at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in London last week, with Braeburn Chief Excellence and Innovation Officer Joanna Garner and Tim Richards, Head of School at Braeburn Garden Estate, representing the Kenyan education group.
The officials visited the stadium for the signing and initial planning for the programme, which is expected to get underway soon.
The partnership links Braeburn’s education network with Arsenal’s football development structures at a time when schools and academies are increasingly playing a role in identifying and developing young sporting talent.
Braeburn said the programme would strengthen its efforts to support young people beyond the classroom by combining education with structured sporting development.
The initiative is also expected to provide a platform for young players in Kenya to gain exposure to professional coaching methods associated with one of England’s leading football clubs.
While details on the programme’s launch dates, participating schools and the number of players to be enrolled are yet to be announced, Braeburn said more information would be released as the programme begins.
The partnership comes as football development programmes continue to expand in Kenya, with schools, academies and international clubs seeking to tap into the country’s growing pool of young talent.
