Kenya Airways Unveils a Refreshed Experience with Safari Duty Free

Kenya Airways has unveiled a completely refreshed Duty-Free experience, introducing Safari Duty Free as its new onboard retail partner.

Launching on 1 November 2026, the new offering combines a mobile-friendly webstore, an expanded product catalogue and prices up to 15% lower than at airport Duty-Free shops and a 5% launch discount on all webstore products until 30 November 2026.

The partnership marks the start of Safari Duty Free’s five-year tenure with Kenya Airways and represents a strategic enhancement of the airline’s inflight retail business. It will offer customers a more seamless shopping experience before and during their journey, with a selection spanning international brands, luxury products, lifestyle items, travel exclusives and curated gifts.

Through the new mobile-friendly Kenya Airways Duty-Free Webstore, customers will be able to browse, compare and pre-order products from home or while on the move, with purchases delivered directly to their seats onboard. Pre-orders can be placed from 40 days up to 72 hours before departure.

The service is designed to offer greater convenience, accessibility and flexibility, with order tracking and 24/7 customer support further enhancing the shopping experience. Cabin crew will also provide personalised assistance onboard.

Speaking during the launch event, Mr Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at Kenya Airways, said, “Duty-free is an important part of the Kenya Airways customer journey. This launch reflects our commitment to continuously enhancing the travel experience by giving our customers more choice, greater convenience and better value. With Safari Duty Free, we are creating a modern retail experience that begins before take-off and continues seamlessly onboard.”

The new proposition repositions Kenya Airways Duty Free as an integral part of the airline’s customer experience, combining greater choice, improved value and convenient digital shopping with the airline’s extensive African and global network.

Safari Duty Free will manage and operate Kenya Airways’ inflight duty-free retail programme, with responsibility for brand partnerships, product curation, merchandising, digital retail integration and customer experience delivery.

Safari Duty Free Managing Director Vivek Mehra said, “We are proud to partner with Kenya Airways at such an exciting moment for inflight retail. By combining Safari Duty Free’s specialist retail expertise with Kenya Airways’ reach and customer base, we will deliver a richer, more rewarding shopping experience for travellers across the airline’s network.”

Customers can explore the new Kenya Airways Duty-Free offering and place pre-orders at www.dutyfree.kenya-airways.com.
