Linda Mwananchi Unveils Leadership Line-Up as Sifuna Names Natembeya Campaign Chief
Linda Mwananchi Movement has unveiled its proposed national leadership team, bringing together politicians, former public office holders and other political figures as it prepares to formalise its organisational structure ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will head the proposed leadership as party leader, while Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has been nominated as national chairperson, deputised by former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo.
Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and former Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo have been proposed as deputy party leaders.
A fourth deputy party leader position has been reserved for a representative from the Coast region.
Suba South MP Caroli Omondi has been proposed as Secretary-General, with Pauline Njoroge as Deputy Secretary-General. Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka has been nominated as National Treasurer, deputised by Abigael Gikonyo.
Other proposed appointments include Kari Karani as Organising Secretary, with Busia MP Wilberforce Oundo as his deputy.
Senator Boni Khalwale has been proposed as Secretary for Political Affairs, while Bumula MP Jack Wamboka has been lined up for the Secretary for Public Policy position.
Lawyer Kanide has been proposed as Secretary for Legal Affairs, while Caroline Mayunzu has been nominated to head the Women’s Alliance and Fred Onduso the Youth League.
Former Narok ODM chairman Torome, popularly known as Kazzaro, has been proposed to represent minority communities, while Eunice Juma and Gilbert Shanga have been nominated for diaspora and international affairs portfolios, respectively.
A key appointment in the proposed structure is that of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, who has been designated Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and head of the movement’s presidential campaign team.
Faith Odhiambo will deputise Natembeya in overseeing the presidential campaign.
The appointments were unveiled on Friday, October 30, 2026, during the launch of the movement’s national headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi, attended by opposition leaders, including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa.
The proposed officials will, however, have to secure approval at the National Delegates Convention scheduled for November 13, 2026, before their positions are formally confirmed.
Beyond establishing its national leadership, Linda Mwananchi has announced plans to expand its grassroots presence by opening offices across all 47 counties, with the rollout expected to begin in Kwale County.
The movement is seeking to strengthen its organisational structures, recruit supporters and establish a nationwide political network as opposition formations position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The November convention is expected to be a significant milestone in formalising the party’s leadership and determining the structures that will guide its political activities going forward.
