Police Arrest Eight Suspected Gang Members in Kasarani Crackdown
Police have arrested eight suspected gang members accused of terrorising residents of Mirema Springs in Kasarani, Nairobi, in an intelligence-led operation targeting rising cases of robbery and violent attacks.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, following reports that suspected gang members had been using crude weapons to injure and rob members of the public in the area.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects were arrested by officers from Kasarani Sub-County and detained at Kasarani Police Station pending their arraignment in court.
Police also recovered an assortment of crude weapons during the raid, which have been secured as exhibits to support investigations and possible prosecution.
The NPS said the operation was part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore security in affected neighbourhoods.
The service commended residents for working with police officers to combat crime and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station.
The police further reiterated their commitment to ensuring that criminal gangs have no room to operate anywhere in the country.
