Nandi senator Samson Cheragei has been elected the vice chairman of the senate county public accounts Committe.
Cherargei replaces Taita Taveta Senator Johnes Mwaruma who was moved to the senate county investments and special funds committee.
Cherargei was elected unanimously in the polls held on Thursday.
Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang remains the chairman of the powerful committe.
“I want to assure members that we will work together to ensure properly perform our roles of checking county governments,” Cherargei said soon aftwr his election.
Kajwanf congratulated Cherargei on his elctions.
“I am happy to have you back again as my vice chairman. Let us work for the people,” Kajwang said.
The committee also welcomed Kilifi senator Stewart Madzayo and his Lamu counterpart Joseph Githuru who were moved to the committee as new members.
They replaced Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna and Mwaruma who were moved to other committee in the changes effected early this week.
