Nelrach Investment Proprietor Charged With Issuing Bad Cheque and Illegally Disposing of Mortgaged Vehicle
The proprietor of Nelrach Investments has been charged with issuing a bad cheque to a lending institution.
Mary Gathoni Ndung’u appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi and denied the charges.
The prosecution told the court that on 18 March 2022, at Eco Bank Towers in Nairobi, Gathoni, as proprietor of Nelrach Investments, issued a cheque worth Sh600,000 in favour of Mwananchi Credit Limited, drawn from her company’s account, knowing the account did not have sufficient funds to honour it.
The court further heard that on an unknown date and place within the country, Gathoni, being the mortgagor of motor vehicle registration number KBS 9**T, fraudulently disposed of the mortgaged vehicle without the consent of Mwananchi Credit Limited.
She was released on a cash bail of Sh30,000.
