Tourism CS Dismisses Fake Protest Notice Circulating Online

The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife has dismissed a notice circulating on social media alleging that a public demonstration has been planned against Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, describing the document as fake and intended to mislead the public.

In a statement, the Ministry said the purported notice, which claims that concerned citizens had notified the Nairobi Regional Police Commander of plans to stage a peaceful procession to the Ministry’s offices, is not authentic and should be disregarded.

The document alleges that demonstrators intended to assemble at the National Archives before marching to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife to present a petition accusing the Cabinet Secretary of neglecting her official duties in favour of partisan political activities.

However, the Ministry maintained that the claims contained in the notice are false, emphasizing that the document does not represent any official communication or verified public process.

Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano urged members of the public to exercise caution when sharing unverified information on social media, noting that the circulation of fabricated documents undermines public trust and fuels misinformation.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Kenya’s tourism agenda and called on the public to rely on official government communication channels for accurate and credible information.
