Kasipul Member of Parliament Boyd Were was among Kenya’s outstanding leaders recognised during the 2026 InfoTrak Leadership Awards held in Nairobi on Wednesday, earning accolades for his leadership and service to the people of Kasipul Constituency.

The annual awards, organised by InfoTrak Research and Consulting, recognise leaders whose performance has stood out based on independent public opinion research and citizen feedback. The initiative aims to promote excellence in governance by celebrating leaders who have demonstrated commitment to effective service delivery, accountability and responsive leadership.

The recognition placed the first-term legislator among a select group of leaders whose performance has earned public acclaim through InfoTrak’s governance and leadership assessment.

Although the legislator was unable to attend the ceremony, the award was received on his behalf by his brother, who expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition and conveyed the MP’s appreciation for the honour.

He described the award as a reflection of the trust and confidence that the people of Kasipul have continued to place in Boyd Were’s leadership, noting that the recognition would inspire him to remain committed to championing development and improving the lives of his constituents.

The colourful ceremony brought together Members of Parliament, governors, senators, county officials, government representatives, development partners and leaders from the private sector to celebrate exemplary leadership across the country.

Speaking during the event, organisers emphasised the importance of recognising leaders who have distinguished themselves through integrity, accountability and measurable impact in public service. They noted that citizen feedback remains an important benchmark for evaluating the effectiveness of elected leaders and strengthening democratic governance.

The InfoTrak Leadership Awards have become one of Kenya’s notable platforms for recognising excellence in public leadership, with recipients drawn from both the national and county levels of government. The awards are informed by independent surveys that gauge public satisfaction with the performance of elected leaders across various sectors.

Boyd Were’s recognition comes at a time when public expectations for accountable leadership and improved service delivery continue to grow. The award is expected to further reinforce his standing among constituents while highlighting the increasing role of evidence-based assessments in measuring the performance of public officials.

As leaders from across the political divide gathered to celebrate excellence in governance, the ceremony underscored the importance of citizen-centred leadership and the need for public officials to remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people they serve.

The event concluded with a renewed call for leaders to uphold integrity, transparency and accountability while working towards sustainable development and improved service delivery for all Kenyans.
